IN WHICH KITTYDRAGON SUCKS WITH PHONES AGAIN.
In chronological order:
Attempts to flash ICZen (a Vibrant ROM) on the Captivate in question, and such is prevented by script asserts (status 7); removes all references in scripts to “Vibrant” or “SGH-T959”, replacing them with “Captivate” and “SGH-I896” respectively; fails to flash ICZen even with asserts removed, receiving status 7 again; backs up the current ROM (Paranoid Android); wipes the phone; spends more time trying to get ICZen to run on the phone, getting blocked by status 7 each time; eventually just flashes the backup on, with no serious problems perceptible; reboots phone, and receives the “encryption unsuccessful” error; tries to wipe /sdcard, which fails; tries to flash Rogers GB stock onto the phone, which ends in Odin3 hanging on factoryfs.rfs; unplugs the phone, causing bootloader corruption; runs UnBrickable Resurrector on the phone to get it working again; attempts flashing a wide variety of Rogers and AT&T stock ROMs, none of which get beyond boot-looping; is currently in a state where the phone will not boot past the AT&T boot screen, and simply shuts down after such, and furthermore, refuses to go into download mode, instead just going into charging mode. Update: finally entered download mode, at which point I used the one-click installer for the stock Rogers GB; it’s now looping between the Rogers and Galaxy S boot animations (one iteration of each), and never booting.
